Sticker designs for Seattle-based Burning Man community

overview

A Seattle-based community tied to Burning Man needed sticker designs to distribute at their events. The Hypnodrome is a dome made of metal, with the design forming many triangles, that can be used for things such as dance parties. The Picodome is its smaller, cuter friend, who is a quiet, relaxing place for a few people at a time to get reprieve from the crazy party going on outside it. They wanted triangles to be a part of the design and to use a color palette of pink/blue/purple.

challenge

Create stickers with triangles being a prominent part of the design. Show the personality of each dome, but also keep some elements similar so they look related.

solution

I created these two creatures, the Picodome as a snail-like creature with a protective shell, and Hypnodrome as a more freewheeling caterpillar ready to party. Both are creatures, each with its own personality. As someone who enjoys creating creatures, this was a great opportunity to do so. Another aspect of this design was rounding the corners of the triangles to make them friendlier. The Burning Man community (from my limited experience with them) is a friendly group, and I wanted that portrayed, rather than having severe, sharp angles on the triangles.
