craigslist ad poster
We were assigned a random Craigslist ad and another student. We had to design the poster based on the student’s style (so they would want to take it and put it up in their home) and visually showcase what was being sold. My quite long ad was for an aggressive, yet beloved goose named Ted. Ted had been known to “alert loudly when he perceives danger” and had recently started seeing his son as a threat to his dominance. The owner made the painful decision to find Ted a new home. The student I was keeping in mind stylistically listed her dream house as a Victorian mansion. This is why Ted is wearing medieval garb and is encased in an elaborate gold frame. The text from the ad serves as a texture in the background, fittingly a Blackletter style font.
Craigslist is a wacky place. Stay safe out there.

For this movie poster design, I considered themes related to the film, such as feeling beautiful and seen, and being at the end of an era. Pamela Anderson’s character Shelly has performed at The Razzle Dazzle in Las Vegas for decades and took deep pride in her work. When the show closes down due to being outdated and low ticket sales, Shelly is understandably devastated. The film is emotionally stirring - how do you move on from your life’s work if you aren’t ready yet?
