overview
An alien named Stanley appeared one day in the vintage clothing section of the Fremont Vintage Mall and was adopted by the store. Though only 4 feet in stature and strangely shaped, Stanley won the hearts of the staff and became the inspiration for the creature on the new logo.

Fremont Vintage Mall is a beloved establishment in Seattle that is in need of a rebrand to freshen up their image and reflect the unique place they hold in the community.

The process
A lot of time goes into branding. From the initial stages of research and figuring out who your audience is, the tone and style to want to convey, and visually creating that is a big undertaking. This was a fun project for me, as someone who likes to get deep into storytelling.

the personality of Fremont Vintage Mall
Fremont Vintage Mall is a unique place. I contains collectibles, vintage clothing and accessories, sports memorabilia, prints, etc. We chose the tagline “Embrace the Strange, Explore the Universe” because FVM is so much more than your typical vintage clothing store. It’s immense in volume of treasures and also feels curated. It is a special institution in Fremont and Seattle as a whole. Fremont Vintage Mall has the distinction of being Eccentric, Local, and Iconic.



The Final style guide

We rebranded The Fremont Vintage Mall to represent its core values: eccentric, iconic, and local. The tagline “Cherish the strange, explore the universe” reflects the vast array of items available at the store. Stanley was discovered and became a huge inspiration for the logo and is certainly eccentric and iconic. We celebrate Fremont Vintage Mall being a local institution with the sign posts in the logo referencing The Center of the Universe Signpost.
